Our recent trip to Washington DC

Grant and I went back to Washington DC a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time. We learned so much about our country's history and the founding fathers.
Here we are at Mt Vernon, I tried Peanut Butter Soup, it was wonderful and our waitress gave me the recipe. Can't wait to try it out!
This was my first time in this part of the country. It was so green, we were there just before "Ike" hit land so it was very humid. I really loved the Amish Country we visited, it was quiet, peaceful and so very clean with no power lines running across the landscape. I enjoyed watching the farmers work as a family unit gathering in their crops, all by hand and horse power. And the sound of the horse's hoofs on the pavement was so much nicer that the roar of automobiles racing. I could have spent much more time in this part of the country.

We also enjoyed Virginia, Maryland
and a corner of Pennsylvania. They
are all nice places to visit, but we much
perfere our country home in Utah.

Here are a couple of other pictures that we think are soooo cute....... Mia loves shoes, everyone's shoes! She is always trying on shoes that are left around unused, But is often taking her own off.

This is an older picture of "tranpa" and Mia but it is one of our favorites. "Tranpa" is a combination of trains and grandpa two items Mia dearly loves! We have such fun with this little sweet heart. She is so fun to be around, we can't get enough of her.

I'm so excited, I finally had my very first long cross-country plane ride, in one of USU's planes (I've worked with flight students for 11 years...but have never flown is a small plane before). The Chief Instructor and I flew to Twin Falls to do some recruiting. It was a blast.

Well, this isn't really a picture of me....but until I find a really good one this will have to do.

It seems all my nieces are bloggers and it seems a great way to keep in touch and to see current pictures of their cute families.
